In Sept.,1987, the Central
Michigan Railway purchased the
line of track from Durand to
Muskegon from the Grand Trunk
Western. Shortly after, the GTW
removed the diamond at Durand.
This created run through
problems for the TSB as we can
see in this photo. They are
headed north towards Flint, then
they have to back their train south
to head east to Pitts Junction
where they cut off south for
Howell. Photographer unknown.
Cadilac & Lake City No.2 at
the Lake City engine house.
No.2 was built by Baldwin in
1912. The locomotive is now at
North Freedom,Wis. July,1969.
Charlote,MI. GTW No.6222 is
on the point. To the left of the
depot is the old MC and GTW
interchange track. The Michigan
Central line crossed the GT just
south of the depot.
