In the fall of 1989 as I was
headed out of St.Johns to work, I
found this incident of Central
Michigan 8801 being hit by two
flat cars of lumber at the Central
Michigan Lumber Co. siding.
Somehow the two flat cars had
rolled into 8801 while it was
spotting some box cars at the
Central Michigan Lumber Co.

On August 14, 1993, Nickle Plate
765 came to Michigan for an
excursion to Grand Rapids. A number
two was put in front of 765 to make it
2765 to represent Cheaapeake &
Ohio Kanawha K-4's, which were
also  2-8-4's. The head light was
moved down to the pilot and the new
number plate with 2765 on it was put
on the smoke box in its place. In this
photo she is storming across the
Grand River bridge at Grand Ledge
headed for Grand Rapids.
