Early morning in July.1975, two miles
east of St.Johns,MI. at the Krepps Rd.
grade crossing. Former Reading T-1
engine 2101, a 4-8-4, is whistling for
the crossing. The Freedom Train is
westbound for Ada,MI. where the
locomotive and train will be on display
at the Amway Corp. The train will then
make Chicago where a Southern
Pacific GS-4 Daylight will take over for
the western tour. No.2101 was
damaged by fire at the Silver Grove,
Ky. roundhouse in the early 1980's, it
was repainted to its Freedom Train
dress and moved to the B.&O.
