One Saturday  At  Flint, MI. In  1992
On October 10,1992, a friend and
I traveled over to Flint to see what
we could find on the railroads
there. Our first stop was at the
CSX McGrew yard where this big
CSX sign greeted us. The morning
started out with overcast skies.
CSX No.2059 was switching
cars in the yard.
Standing on a side track next to
the freight shed was the "Spirit of
Pere Marquette."
We left the freight house area and
went to the south end of the yard
where the CSX enginehouse
stood. I took this photo looking
across the Saginaw main line.
There was some power standing
there in the old B&O and
Seaboard paint scheme. The
engine house is on the left in this
view.
While checking out the scene at
the CSX enginehouse, No.8218
and train came sailing by from
Saginaw.
Our next stop was the GTW  yard on Bristol rd. southwest of Flint. By now the sun had emerge and made for
better photography. We caught GP38-2 No.5827 coming into the yard leading two GP40's, 6412 and 6414.
They were picking up some car haulers.
In this view are two SW 1200 switchers built in 1960, Nos.1513 and 1516. To the right is GP9r 4610. It was
formerly 4904, built for the Grand Trunk of New England. In the background is the GTW car shops.
Three GP38-2s, 5734, 6227 and 5703 standing on the ready track. GTW engine house is on the right.

Bristol yard. GP38AC, No.5811
stands just inside the door on the
right.
On page-2 we will have moved to
the west end of Bristol yard and
will try and catch some action on
the main line.
